KsTU Celebrates the Top 10 Researchers in 2026 AD Scientific Index Rankings

Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) is celebrating ten of its academics who have been ranked as the top researchers in the University in the 2026 edition of the AD Scientific Index.

 The AD Scientific Index evaluates performance and productivity of individual scientists and institutions. It among other  things, looks at researchers based on both H-index and their performance over the last five years, providing a clear measure of research output and influence across institutions and countries.

According to the 2026 rankings, Prof. Lewis Abedi Asante of the Estate Management Department is ranked first in KsTU. He is followed by Prof. Kofi Mintah Oware from the Banking Technology and Finance Department in second place. Engr. Prof. Surv. Francis Kwesi Bondinuba of the Construction Technology and Quantity Surveying Department is ranked third, while Ing. Prof. Edem Cudjoe Bensah of the Chemical Engineering Department is fourth.

Dr. Elijah Boadu Frimpong of the Civil Engineering Department is ranked fifth with Prof. Abdul-Aziz Iddrisu from the Banking Technology and Finance Department occupying the sixth position. Engr. Surv. Prof. Sarfo Mensah is seventh while Rev. Surv. Engr. Prof. Collins Ameyaw is at the eighth position with both coming from the Construction Technology and Quantity Surveying Department.

Engr. Prof. Sampson Kofi Kyei of the Chemical Engineering Department is ranked ninth, while Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh of the Management Studies Department is ranked tenth.

The University commends the researchers for their contributions to knowledge and encourages the entire KsTU community to continue striving for excellence.

Kumasi Technical University was established in 1954 as Kumasi Technical Institute (K. T. I. ) to offer craft courses. In 1963, the Institute was converted to a non-tertiary Polytechnic status under the Ghana Education Service to start offering, in addition, technician diploma and sub- professional courses.
